This magnificent Bidjar rug, hailing from the renowned region of Persia, is a superb example of traditional textile art. With its dense knotting, boasting a density between 400,000 and 450,000 knots/sqm, and a thickness of 1.4 cm, it offers exceptional robustness and durability, characteristic of Bidjar rugs.
Crafted from a precious blend of wool and silk, on a cotton warp, it features a rich and profound color combination. The design is characterized by an imposing central octagonal medallion, skillfully layered in various shades of terracotta red and black. The field is densely populated with stylized floral and geometric motifs, arranged in an all-over pattern that harmoniously fills the spaces. The use of silk adds a subtle sheen that highlights the complexity of the details.
The multiple, finely elaborated borders with floral motifs and palmettes elegantly frame the rug, balancing the strength of the central design. The overall effect is visually striking, a work of art that combines the legendary resilience of Bidjar with the refined elegance of silk, perfect for enriching any environment with character and history.
