Classic Persian Ardakan Rug
This magnificent Ardakan rug hails from the renowned manufacturing tradition of Persia. It is an exemplary piece that embodies the timeless elegance of oriental rugs, characterized by a masterful combination of colors and an intricate design.
The main field is dominated by a vibrant shade of scarlet red, creating a warm and inviting backdrop. At its center stands a large, finely crafted medallion, predominantly in dark blue and cream, enriched with sky blue and green details. In the corners, four spandrels echo the design and colors of the central medallion, creating perfect visual harmony. The rest of the field is skillfully decorated with a profusion of stylized floral motifs, including palmettes, arabesques, and blossoming branches, gracefully extending across the entire surface.
The border, also in midnight blue, is decorated with a series of minor bands containing geometric and floral motifs in shades of green, cream, and red. The presence of a slight abrash (color variation) adds depth and authenticity, testifying to the handcrafted nature of the wool dyeing.
