This magnificent Mashad rug, originating from Persia, embodies the elegance and richness of ancient Persian textile tradition. Its central field is dominated by a vibrant red color, enriched by an all-over design that extends harmoniously with floral motifs, arabesques, and palmettes. A subtle central medallion emerges from the complexity of the design, lending depth and focus.
The main border, in a deep navy blue, expertly frames the field, also featuring a series of stylized motifs that echo the opulence of the central design. Accents of light blue, gold, beige, and touches of green and brown enrich the color palette, creating a visually striking harmony. The slight color variation, or "abrash," visible in some areas, testifies to the authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship of naturally dyed wool.
Made with high-quality hand-carded wool and a cotton warp, this rug offers a soft yet durable texture. The knot density varies between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, indicating a dense and meticulous weave. With a thickness of approximately 1.1 cm, it ensures excellent durability and pleasant comfort underfoot. A Mashad is more than just a rug; it is a piece of history and culture, capable of transforming any environment with its majestic presence and timeless charm.
