This magnificent Kashan rug, originating from Persia, is a sublime expression of oriental textile art and tradition. Its classic design is centered around a large oval medallion, richly decorated with stylized floral elements, which stands out elegantly against the vibrant red main field. Intricate scrolls of flowering branches, palmettes, and rosettes unfold harmoniously across the entire field, creating a dense and captivating pattern.
The rug's corners, or spandrels, echo and complete the medallion's motif, adding depth and visual cohesion. The main border, in an intense dark blue, is in turn adorned with a series of palmettes alternating with smaller floral motifs, framed by thinner secondary borders that enhance the overall elegance of the piece.
Made with hand-carded wool for the pile and cotton for the warp, this rug boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1.2 cm, attesting to the high quality of its manufacture. Every detail, from the choice of colors – red, dark blue, beige, and cream – to the precision of the knot, contributes to making this Kashan a timeless work of art, capable of enriching the ambiance of any room with its beauty and history.
