This splendid Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a magnificent example of the ancient art of weaving. Crafted from high-quality hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, it boasts a robust structure and timeless appeal.
The design features an explosion of geometric motifs developing around a large central rhombus, enriched with smaller shapes and tribal details. The borders are adorned with a lively zigzag pattern, harmoniously framing the entire composition. The color palette stands out for its warm tones of orange and antique pink, with delicate touches of cream, creating a vibrant and inviting visual effect. The subtle variations in color, known as abrash, attest to its artisanal craftsmanship and the use of natural dyes, giving each piece a unique and unmistakable character.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of just 0.3, this Kilim is not merely a decoration but a piece of history and culture, perfect for adding warmth and authenticity to any setting.
