This original Kilim originates from the majestic lands of Afghanistan, a testament to ancient nomadic textile tradition. Each Kilim is a unique piece, carrying stories and cultures of peoples who have spanned centuries, keeping a millenary art alive. Its production is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation.
Made entirely from hand-carded wool, this rug boasts exceptional quality and unmistakable softness. The warp is made of sturdy cotton, ensuring durability and stability. The weaving density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, ensures remarkable resistance and a compact structure. Its thickness of only 0.3 cm makes it light and versatile, perfect for placement in various environments without creating bulk. The Kilim technique, without pile, highlights the design through the interweaving of threads.
The Kilim features an all-over geometric design, characterized by an alternation of hexagons, diamonds, and other abstract figures that create a fascinating visual rhythm. The predominant colors are neutral beige, sky light blue, and deep blue, which blend harmoniously. The abrash effect, evident in the slight variations in tone, adds depth and character, revealing the authenticity of the natural dyeing process. This color palette, along with its clean design, makes it suitable for both classic and modern environments, imparting a touch of discreet elegance and vibrancy.
