This original Kilim from Afghanistan is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool and a sturdy cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of just 0.3 cm, ensuring durability and lightness. The flatweave technique makes it incredibly versatile, perfect for enriching any room in the house.
The Kilim features a captivating all-over pattern with intricate geometric motifs. At its center, a large diamond outlined by light bands stands out, enclosing smaller, also diamond-shaped motifs in various shades of blue and turquoise. The abrash effect, typical of handcrafted items, gives the rug a lived-in feel and uniqueness, with slight color variations that enhance its depth. The field is adorned with a myriad of small tribal symbols and geometric shapes, predominantly in shades of blue, light turquoise, and occasional hints of pale pink, creating a harmonious and eye-catching contrast.
Its modern ethnic style makes it an ideal furnishing accessory for both contemporary interiors, to which it adds a touch of color and personality, and for more traditional or bohemian settings, where it blends in naturally. The predominance of turquoise blue tones evokes feelings of tranquility and freshness, making it perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, or even as a decorative piece in studies and entryways.
