This splendid Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a magnificent example of tribal textile art. Characterized by an all-over diamond pattern, it is a piece that captures attention with its dynamic geometry and rich colors.
The dominant shades of terracotta red blend harmoniously with accents of sky blue, ocher yellow, and beige, creating a lively yet balanced contrast. Each diamond is carefully woven, revealing nuances and the typical abrash of natural dyeing.
Made entirely from hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, this Kilim offers an authentic texture and lasting robustness. Its flat-weave construction makes it lightweight and versatile, perfect for enriching any setting, from the most traditional to the contemporary.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.3 cm, it is a durable and easy-to-maintain rug, a testament to the skill of Afghan master weavers.
