This splendid Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a textile work of art that combines tradition with contemporary design. Crafted from hand-carded wool, it features a flat weave that highlights artisanal skill. The cotton warp ensures robustness and durability for this rug, ideal for enriching any room with a touch of warmth and authenticity.
Its technical composition boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of just 0.3 cm, making it lightweight and versatile. The flat weave, typical of Kilims, makes it reversible and easy to maintain, perfect for high-traffic areas or as a decorative element under a table or in the living room.
The Kilim features a geometric diamond pattern that fills the central field with a harmony of delicate and earthy colors. The palette includes shades of beige, light grey, dusty blue, antique rose, and terracotta, creating a vibrant yet sophisticated visual effect. The border is decorated with a triangular motif that elegantly frames the field. The use of different shades within the same color may create a slight abrash effect, a testament to the use of natural dyes and the artisanal process that lends unique depth and character to each piece.
The combination of traditional Afghan motifs and a modern color palette makes this Kilim an extremely versatile furnishing accessory, capable of integrating into both classic and more contemporary spaces, always adding a touch of refined ethnicity.
