This splendid Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a magnificent example of traditional textile art. Crafted with hand-carded wool for the weft and a robust cotton warp, it offers unique resilience and softness. The flatweave technique, typical of Kilims, highlights the meticulous artisan craftsmanship. The subtle color variations, known as abrash, attest to the use of natural dyes and the authenticity of the process.
The design features a series of geometric diamond patterns arranged in an elegant all-over design. The pastel color palette is extremely harmonious: shades of powder pink, sky blue, mint green, lavender, soft orange, and natural beige blend to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere. This Kilim adapts perfectly to various furnishing styles, from bohemian to modern, adding a touch of warmth and personality to any space.
With a weaving density estimated between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, despite being a flatweave rug, it ensures robustness and compactness. Its thin structure, with a thickness of only 0.3 cm, makes it light and versatile, ideal for easy placement and maintenance. A work of art that unites ancient tradition with contemporary beauty.
