This superb Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a magnificent example of traditional textile craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool for a rustic and authentic look, it features a cotton warp that ensures its robustness. Its density, measured between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, and a thickness of only 0.3 cm, make it lightweight and versatile.
The design is characterized by an all-over geometric pattern, with vibrant and complex diamond shapes that follow one another in a harmonious composition. The dominant colors are shades of burnt orange, turquoise, apple green, pink, and pastel yellow, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Slight color variations, such as abrash, typical of handmade work, lend a unique charm and unparalleled depth to this piece.
