This magnificent Kilim originates from Afghanistan and is a testament to the rich artisanal tradition of the region. Entirely made from hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, it offers exceptional robustness and durability, combined with a pleasant feel.
Its geometric design is an explosion of shapes and colors. The field is dominated by large concentric hexagons, each containing rhombus motifs and embellished with a wide range of vibrant shades such as orange, fuchsia, turquoise, and cream, all set against a neutral grey background. The expert use of abrash, typical of artisan rugs, adds depth and character, creating slight chromatic variations that tell the story of its weaving. The border echoes smaller diamond motifs, perfectly integrating with the all-over design.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of just 0.3 cm, this Kilim is an excellent example of a flatweave rug. Its lightweight construction makes it versatile and suitable for various environments, from the living room to the bedroom, and even as a decorative wall hanging. Its square dimensions make it ideal for defining spaces or adding a touch of vibrant color.
Perfect for those who wish to infuse their home with an ethnic and bohemian touch, or for those who appreciate the authenticity and craftsmanship of traditional rugs. Each Kilim is a unique piece, carrying with it the history and culture of the place where it was created.
