This splendid Kilim, originating from the traditional weaving regions of Afghanistan, is a textile work of art that encapsulates centuries of history and artisanal mastery. Crafted with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, it offers exceptional robustness and durability, combined with an unexpected softness.
The rug features a vibrant central design, dominated by a series of large concentric diamonds, with colors such as intense orange, earthy red, sky blue, ocher yellow, and beige. These geometric motifs, arranged in rows, create a captivating visual rhythm. On the sides and in the horizontal bands of the central field, small stylized motifs are observed, echoing tribal elements, enriched by a delicate abrash effect, a testament to the authenticity of natural pigments and artisanal craftsmanship.
The perimeter borders, on a predominantly light grey background, are adorned with a succession of smaller, stylized geometric motifs that balance the vibrancy of the central field and add depth to the overall design. The combination of warm and cool tones makes this Kilim extremely versatile, capable of infusing a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere into any setting, from the most classic to the most contemporary.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.3 cm, this Kilim is not just a piece of furniture, but a fragment of textile history and culture, perfect for those seeking an authentic and characterful rug.
