This magnificent Shiraz rug, originating from majestic Persia, is an authentic expression of the knotting art of the Fars nomadic peoples. Crafted with hand-carded wool for the pile and cotton for the warp, it embodies the robustness and intrinsic beauty of tribal rugs.
The main field, in an intense ruby red, features a series of three imposing interconnected rhomboid medallions, in deep shades of indigo blue and cream. These medallions are finely decorated with stylized geometric motifs, recalling natural elements and protective symbols typical of Persian culture. The entire field is dotted with a myriad of smaller geometric motifs and stylized figures that create a dynamic visual effect.
The rich and elaborate border presents several decorative bands with repeated floral and geometric motifs on a cream background, beautifully framing the central design. The knotting, with a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, testifies to the care and mastery of the artisans. Natural color variations, known as "abrash", present in the red field, add depth and character, revealing the artisanal nature and the use of vegetable dyes.
An ideal piece to add warmth and a touch of history and authenticity to any environment, from the living room to the dining room, bringing with it the echo of Persian traditions.
