This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is a textile masterpiece that captivates with its rich details and vibrant colors. The main field is dominated by an intense red, against which an elaborate star-shaped central medallion stands out, finely crafted in navy blue and enriched with accents of ivory and light blue. The medallion is complemented by elegant pendants extending into the field. The all-over design, typical of these rugs, features stylized floral motifs, including palmettes, leaves, and arabesques, creating a harmonious and lush effect.
The complex borders are also adorned with a sequence of floral and geometric patterns, enclosing the central field in a majestic frame. Made with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, this rug boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, which give it remarkable robustness and softness. It is a piece that carries the ancient tradition of Persian knotting art, ideal for adding a touch of elegance and history to any environment.
