This splendid Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is a magnificent example of traditional textile art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1 cm, which give it robustness and a pleasant feel to the touch.
The design is characterized by an imposing dark blue central medallion, elegantly outlined and enriched with floral details and palmettes in cream and light blue. This medallion rests on a vibrant red field, decorated with an intricate all-over floral design, composed of stylized vines and florets in shades of blue, cream, and ochre, harmoniously filling the space. The colors are vivid and well-balanced, creating a warm and refined atmosphere.
The rug's frame is composed of several bands, including a prominent dark blue main border, also adorned with stylized floral motifs that echo the central field. The alternation of narrower borders with geometric and vegetal designs adds depth and detail to the overall composition. Every element is crafted with great skill, making this Ardakan a timeless work of art, capable of enriching any environment with its elegance and history.
