This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from the renowned Persian region, is an authentic textile work of art. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool on a sturdy cotton warp, it features a density of 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, which give it robustness and a pleasant feel.
Its design is dominated by a large central medallion that captures attention with its deep tones of midnight blue, cream, and sky blue. This medallion is richly adorned with complex stylized floral motifs, including palmettes and sinuous vines, elegantly expanding towards the pendants.
The main field of the rug is a vibrant scarlet red, forming a spectacular backdrop for a floral pattern that includes delicate flowers, leaves, and branching motifs, harmoniously distributed. The corners (spandrels) echo the motifs and colors of the medallion, creating a sense of continuity and visual balance.
The majestic border consists of a main dark blue band, also densely decorated with a succession of floral motifs and cartouches, flanked by thinner secondary bands that add depth and precisely define the edges. Slight color variations, known as abrash, attest to the artisanal craftsmanship and the use of natural dyes, giving the rug a unique and authentic character.
This Ardakan rug is ideal for enriching classic interiors or adding a touch of elegance and history to modern spaces, transforming any room into a refined and welcoming environment.
