This magnificent Shahreza rug, originating from Persia, captivates the eye with its powerful visual impact and intricate details. The main field, in a deep burgundy color, is densely dotted with a minute geometric design that creates a rich and enveloping visual texture. At the center, two imposing black lozenge medallions dominate the composition. Within each medallion, a complex geometric structure unfolds in shades of cream, olive green, black, and red, featuring stylized tribal symbols that evoke ancient traditions. This arrangement is a classic example of a medallion rug with a strong appeal to tribal aesthetics. The rug is framed by a multi-layered border, also characterized by repeated geometric motifs in a color palette that echoes the nuances of the field and the medallions, adding depth and definition to the overall piece. The combination of dark and light tones creates a dynamic and harmonious contrast. The excellent state of preservation and the vibrant color saturation attest to the high quality of the materials and artisanal craftsmanship.
Made from hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, this Shahreza boasts a density of 250,000-300,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.3 cm, ensuring exceptional robustness and durability. Each knot tells a story of skill and dedication, making each piece a unique work of art.
