This magnificent Sarough rug, originating from Persia, is a splendid example of ancient Persian knotting art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density, ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 knots per square meter, thus ensuring robustness and a rich, detailed texture.
The design features an impressive central medallion in dark blue, finely decorated with stylized motifs and arabesques, standing out against a vibrant red main field. The all-over pattern includes flowering branches, palmettes, and rosettes arranged harmoniously. Dominant shades include the intense red of the field, the deep blue of the medallion, and accents of sky blue, beige, and light gold found in the floral details and border.
The outer border, in cream and beige tones, elegantly frames the rug with classic Persian motifs, echoing the nuances of the field and medallion. The thickness of 1.2 cm gives the rug a luxurious and soft feel. A work of art that adds warmth and a touch of timeless elegance to any setting.
