Handmade Afghan Kilim
This splendid Kilim from Afghanistan is an authentic work of textile art, an expression of the rich craftsmanship tradition of those lands. Made with hand-carded wool, it features a solid and resistant structure (cotton warp), typical of high-quality artifacts.
Its main field is dominated by a warm shade of terracotta, enlivened by an all-over design that captures the eye. A series of hexagonal motifs, arranged in orderly rows, fills the entire surface of the rug. Each hexagon is a small masterpiece of colors and shapes, with internal geometric patterns ranging from blue to green, from yellow to cream, to delicate shades of purple and gray.
