This beautiful original Kilim from Afghanistan is a vibrant expression of ancient textile art. Made with hand-carded wool for the weft and cotton for the warp, it features a flatweave construction that makes it lightweight and versatile.
The design is an all-over geometric pattern, characterized by a complex series of interconnected diamonds in various shades. Predominant colors include warm terracotta and orange hues, lively light blue and turquoise accents, and delicate notes of yellow and cream, all on a light background. The presence of abrash (natural color variations due to different dye baths) adds depth and authenticity, making each piece unique.
With its ethnic and tribal aesthetic, this Kilim is perfect for adding a touch of color and history to any environment, whether as a main rug or an elegant furnishing accessory, ideal for a living room, bedroom, or even as a wall decoration. Its density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and thickness of 0.3 cm attest to its artisanal quality and durability over time.
