This magnificent Kazak rug, originating from the mountainous lands of Afghanistan, is an authentic expression of tribal knotting art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it reveals a robust texture and an unexpected softness underfoot.
Its chromatic composition is dominated by a warm terra cotta red, enriched by vibrant accents of light blue, dark blue, and delicate shades of cream and beige. The use of natural dyes lends a subtle abrash, which adds depth and unique character to the rug.
The design is a classic example of the Kazak style, characterized by bold central geometric medallions arranged on an open field. These medallions are surrounded by smaller motifs and stylized symbols typical of nomadic tradition. The finely elaborated border frames the field with repeated designs that enhance its overall structure and harmony. A density of approximately 100,000-150,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.1 cm attest to the quality and durability of this piece.
Perfect for adding a touch of history and color to any environment, this Kazak blends beautifully with both traditional and contemporary furnishings, bringing with it the echo of ancient traditions and the mastery of its artisans.
