This splendid Kazak rug, originating from the traditional weaving regions of Afghanistan, is a magnificent example of tribal craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density of between 100,000 and 150,000 knots/sqm, ensuring robustness and durability with a thickness of 1.1 cm.
The design features a vibrant central medallion in deep red, surrounded by cream and blue details. The main field, a calming sky blue, is dotted with smaller geometric motifs and stylized floral patterns that evoke traditional Caucasian iconography. The multi-layered borders echo the field's colors, creating a balanced visual harmony. The skillful use of color, including touches of dark blue and light green, enriches the design with a lively aesthetic.
Each Kazak rug is a unique piece, and this example is no exception, carrying with it the history and culture of the peoples who created it. Perfect for adding warmth and authenticity to living rooms, studies, or bedrooms, this rug is an investment in beauty and traditional craftsmanship.
