Ardakan Persian Rug: A Classic Work of Art
This splendid Ardakan rug, hailing from the renowned textile tradition of Persia, is a magnificent example of Persian craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, it features a remarkable density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, ensuring its robustness and soft touch.
The design is characterized by a majestic central medallion on an intense red field, richly adorned with a dense network of classic floral motifs, including palmettes, arabesques, and rosettes. The dark blue spandrel corners harmoniously echo elements of the medallion, creating a balanced and lavish visual effect. The main border, also in a deep navy blue, frames the rug with further elegant floral decorations that complete the ensemble.
The predominant colors are the ruby red of the field and the dark blue of the medallion and border, enriched with touches of beige, light blue, and golden yellow that add depth and vibrancy.
