Shiraz Rug: A Tribal Masterpiece from Persia
This magnificent Shiraz rug, originating from Persia, is a superb example of artisanal mastery. Entirely crafted with hand-carded wool, it features a robust cotton warp that ensures its durability.
Its design is dominated by a large central field of a vibrant red, characterized by three distinct vertically aligned diamond medallions. These medallions, framed by white and dark blue borders, enclose elaborate geometric and stylized motifs. The entire field is dotted with numerous smaller tribal and stylized floral motifs, typical of Shiraz artifacts.
The outer borders are defined by a dark blue frame with repeated geometric patterns, creating a harmonious contrast with the central red field. The presence of abrash (natural color variations) adds depth and character, attesting to the authentic nature of the natural dyes used.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm, this rug offers a rich texture and remarkable resistance, ideal for enriching any setting with its warm Persian atmosphere.
