This magnificent Ardakan rug, hailing from the renowned Persian textile tradition, enchants with its richness of detail and vibrancy of colors. Its origin in Persia guarantees craftsmanship of the highest quality.
The design is dominated by a large, elongated central medallion that immediately captures the eye. This medallion is finely decorated with an intricate floral motif on a navy blue background, with a bright, luminous element at its center. The main field of the rug is a vivid and intense red, entirely covered by a dense all-over floral design of palmettes, rosettes, and meandering vines, creating a sense of movement and opulence. Tones of red, dark blue, and ivory intertwine harmoniously, enriched by details in light blue and ochre.
The rug's frame consists of multiple borders, each with its own distinctive motif. The main border, on a blue background, echoes and elaborates on the floral motifs of the field, surrounded by narrower secondary borders with stylized geometric and floral patterns, also in shades of red, blue, and ivory. The use of hand-carded wool gives the pile a particular softness and a subtle iridescence, with possible traces of abrash, testifying to its authenticity and the use of natural dyes.
A textile work of art that brings ancient Persian mastery into any room, lending it a touch of refinement and history.
