This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is a sublime expression of traditional knotting art. Characterized by a robust structure and refined aesthetics, it is a work of art that enhances any environment.
Made with high-quality hand-carded wool, it features a cotton warp that ensures its stability. The knot density ranges between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, a testament to the accuracy and skill of the weavers. Its thickness of approximately 1 cm provides a pleasant feeling of softness underfoot.
The design is dominated by a large, elaborate central medallion, which stands out against a predominantly red field. This medallion, in shades of dark blue and beige, is surrounded by a rich floral motif of spirals and palmettes, typical of Persian tradition. The composition is elegantly framed by a triple border, where Herati and smaller floral motifs alternate in complementary shades of dark blue, red, and beige, with subtle color variations (abrash) that enrich the visual perception and attest to the use of natural dyes and artisanal craftsmanship.
An Ardakan is an investment in beauty and history, capable of transforming a house into a home rich in charm and warmth.
