This authentic Shiraz rug originates from Persia, a land steeped in rich history and textile traditions. Masterfully crafted by nomadic weavers, it embodies the typical beauty and robustness of these artisanal creations. The use of hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp ensures a rug of high quality and durability, destined to last for generations.
The central field is dominated by a deep red hue, rich with tonal variations (abrash), a hallmark of authenticity and natural dyeing. The design is a captivating example of an all-over pattern, characterized by rows of stylized medallions that evoke the forms of vases or urns. Each medallion is finely detailed with abstract floral motifs and stylized animal figures, expressing ancient tribal symbolism.
The complexity of the borders is equally remarkable, with edges adorned by a series of stylized birds and geometric patterns, which frame and enhance the heart of the rug.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter, this Shiraz offers a resilient and pleasant surface underfoot. Its substantial pile contributes to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in any setting, from classic to more contemporary. A work of art that not only decorates but also tells tales of ancient journeys and millennia-old traditions.
