This Shiraz rug, originating from ancient Persia, is an authentic expression of nomadic art. Crafted from hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, it boasts a robust and durable weave, ideal for spaces seeking a touch of authenticity and history.
The main field is dominated by a vibrant red color, enriched by a series of interconnected geometric motifs in shades of dark blue, cream white, brown, and green. These designs, rich in symbolism, are characteristic of the Shiraz region's tribes. Flanking the central field, two dark navy blue side panels feature a fine dotted pattern, adding depth and texture to the piece.
The borders, with their intricate repeated geometries, beautifully frame the rug, completing the harmony of the overall design. The natural color variation, known as abrash, attests to the use of vegetable dyes and artisanal craftsmanship, giving each piece a unique and unrepeatable character.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a substantial thickness, this Shiraz is not just a furnishing item, but a textile work of art that brings warmth, history, and a timeless atmosphere to any space.
