This authentic Shiraz rug, originating from Persia, is a magnificent example of nomadic textile art. Each single piece is a unique work of art, hand-knotted with hand-carded wool, ensuring a rich texture and exceptional durability. The cotton warp provides stability and robustness, typical of these traditional artifacts.
The rug features a vibrant polygonal central medallion, framed by an intense red field. Inside the medallion, stylized geometric motifs unfold in shades of black and cream. The main field is densely populated by a myriad of small decorative elements, including trees of life, stylized flowers, and animal figures such as horses and birds, symbols of prosperity and happiness in tribal cultures. The corner areas of the field, in a deep navy blue, echo and complete the central design, creating a captivating visual contrast. The abrash, a natural color variation, adds a touch of authenticity and charm, bearing witness to the manual dyeing of the wool.
The rug's borders consist of multiple bands, rich in minute geometric patterns and zigzag motifs, elegantly enclosing the main field. With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, this Shiraz offers a pleasant consistency and excellent wear resistance. It is an ideal piece to add warmth and character to any room, from the hall to the living room, bringing with it the history and mysticism of ancient Persian traditions.
