This magnificent Nadjafabad rug transports us to the heart of Persian textile tradition. Originating from Persia, it is a splendid example of the artisanal art that has made this region famous.
The design is dominated by an elaborate central medallion, surrounded by a navy blue field richly decorated with floral motifs, sinuous arabesques, and stylized palmettes, following the classic all-over design style. The spandrels, or quarter medallions, echo the light tones of the central medallion, creating a pleasing visual contrast. The multi-layered borders are adorned with continuous floral patterns that perfectly frame the field.
Crafted from hand-carded wool, this rug boasts a dense weave (160,000-200,000 knots/sqm) and exceptional robustness, while the cotton warp ensures structural stability. The combination of navy blue, cream, rust, and touches of green and light blue gives the rug a timeless elegance, capable of enriching any environment with its majestic presence. The potential presence of slight color variations, known as abrash, attests to the authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship of the piece, adding character and depth.
A work of art that combines history, culture, and invaluable beauty.
