This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is an exquisite example of traditional textile craftsmanship. Crafted from hand-carded wool on a sturdy cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density, estimated between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, ensuring its durability and the intricacy of its details. With a thickness of approximately 1 cm, it offers a luxurious and comfortable feel underfoot.
The design is dominated by a vibrant red field, animated by a large and refined central medallion, framed by matching corners. The field and medallion pattern is richly floral, featuring a harmonious composition of stylized flowers, leaves, and tendrils that extend gracefully. The richness of the details and the precision of the knotting testify to the skill of Ardakan's master weavers.
A lavish dark blue border, also decorated with complex floral motifs and ornamental cartouches, delimits the central field, adding depth and contrast. The colors are vivid and well-preserved, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in any room. This rug is not just a furnishing item, but a piece of Persian history and culture that enriches any space with its timeless beauty.
