This splendid Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a vibrant expression of tribal textile art. Made with hand-carded wool, it features a robust weave and intense colors, typical of handicrafts from this region. The flat-weave technique, without pile, makes the Kilim durable and versatile, perfect for enriching any environment with a touch of warmth and authenticity.
The rug boasts a rich all-over geometric design, with a predominance of diamond motifs and stylized figures that tell ancient stories and symbolize nomadic culture. The color palette is vibrant: earthy red, cobalt blue, emerald green, ochre yellow, and touches of white and orange blend harmoniously, creating a dynamic and captivating visual effect. The natural abrash, slight variations in shade due to different dye lots of wool, adds a unique and unrepeatable character to each piece.
With an estimated density between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 0.3 cm, this Kilim is not only beautiful but also practical and durable. Its composition of hand-carded wool with a cotton warp ensures quality and resistance over time. Perfect for a living room, study, or even as a tapestry, it is a functional work of art that brings a piece of history and culture directly into your home.
