This magnificent Afghan Kilim stands as a testament to the ancient art of handweaving. Originating from Afghanistan, each piece is imbued with history and culture, reflecting the traditions of nomadic peoples.
The rug features a vibrant all-over design with a multitude of geometric diamond motifs, arranged in a harmonious polychromatic composition on an orange-red background. The equally striking border is marked by large diamond-shaped medallions, characterized by stylized hook details that frame the central field with rustic elegance. The variety of colors, ranging from terracotta red, orange, sky blue, turquoise green, cream, and golden yellow, lends the Kilim a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Made from hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, this Kilim offers an authentic tactile feel and remarkable robustness. The typical Kilim weaving technique results in a reduced thickness (0.3 cm), ideal for various settings, from the living room to the dining area, or even as a wall decoration. Its density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm ensures a durable finish and a richness of detail that catches the eye.
Abrash, the natural variation in color shades, is present and adds depth and uniqueness to the rug, making it a truly unrepeatable piece. A Kilim is not just a rug, but an artistic expression that brings warmth and personality to any home.
