This magnificent Afghan Kilim is an authentic work of textile art, hand-woven with skill and passion. Kilims are traditional flat-weave rugs, valued for their lightness and durability. Its Afghan origin gives this rug a unique character, rooting its patterns in a millennia-old history of symbols and culture.
Made entirely from hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp ensuring its stability, this Kilim features a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter, testifying to its excellent artisanal quality. Its slim thickness of 0.3 cm makes it versatile and suitable for various settings, from under a dining table to a living area.
The rug showcases an exceptionally lively and rich color palette, with shades ranging from bright red to warm orange, from sky blue to emerald green, with accents of white, yellow, and beige. The color variation, known as 'abrash', is a distinctive feature of natural dyeing and adds depth and authenticity to each piece. The main design features a series of large, concentric diamonds arranged vertically in the center, flanked by smaller, traditional geometric motifs that fill the field in a captivating all-over design.
Perfect for adding a touch of color and vibrancy to any room, this Kilim is not just a rug, but a piece of history and craftsmanship that will tell its story for years to come.
