This authentic Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a masterpiece of textile craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool, it features a flat and sturdy weave. The warp is made of cotton, ensuring stability and durability.
The all-over pattern is dominated by a series of geometric diamond motifs, repeating harmoniously in the center. These are framed by rectangular blocks containing stylized floral details and traditional symbols, making each section unique. The color palette is vibrant and rich, characterized by shades of red, blue, yellow, green, and beige, with fascinating color variations known as abrash, a distinctive sign of natural dyeing and hand-spun wool, which gives the rug an authentic and lived-in character.
With a thickness of approximately 0.3 cm, it is a lightweight yet durable rug, ideal for enriching any room with a touch of color and history.
