This Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is an authentic expression of traditional textile art.
Made entirely with hand-carded wool, it features a cotton warp that ensures strength and durability. Its density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of just 0.3 cm make it a perfect example of a flatweave rug, light and resistant, ideal for various home environments.
The design is a vibrant geometric pattern, characterized by a large central diamond medallion, surrounded by a myriad of smaller geometric shapes like triangles and stacked lozenges. The color palette is extremely rich and lively: the grey-green background stands out, with accents of red, blue, yellow, beige, and touches of purple and orange. The presence of abrash adds depth and uniqueness, highlighting the natural variations in the wool's color.
A textile work of art that adds warmth, color, and an ethnic touch to any space, from the living room to the bedroom, lending a welcoming and historically rich atmosphere.
