This splendid kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a vibrant expression of traditional textile art. Entirely hand-knotted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it offers a distinctive texture and lasting durability. Its flat-weave, pile-less construction makes it lightweight and versatile, ideal for adding a touch of color and history to any space.
The design features a series of geometric diamond shapes arranged vertically, enriched with complex internal motifs and surrounded by a stylized border. The color palette is lively and varied, with pastel shades such as sky blue, peach orange, cream, mustard yellow, and touches of red and deep blue. The abrash effect is visible in various areas, testifying to the artisanal nature and the use of natural dyes that react uniquely to light, creating fascinating and unrepeatable nuances. With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.3 cm, it is a functional work of art that carries a piece of Afghan culture.
