This magnificent Kilim from Afghanistan is an authentic textile work of art, hand-woven with skill and passion. Every detail tells a story of tradition and artisan mastery, typical of the flatweave rugs from this region. Made from hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, it offers exceptional robustness and durability, while maintaining a slim thickness of only 0.3 cm.
The all-over pattern is dominated by a sequence of large geometric diamonds that alternate in a vibrant color palette: red, blue, yellow, green, and cream, with accents of orange and purple. The overall effect is lively and dynamic, capable of infusing energy and character into any room. The side borders feature repeated stylized motifs, framing the central field harmoniously. The possible presence of abrash, slight variations in color tone, testifies to the authenticity of the natural, manual wool dyeing process, adding further charm and uniqueness to the artifact.
With a density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, this Kilim is not just a piece of furniture, but a piece of history and culture, perfect for those who wish to add a touch of exoticism and warmth to their home, from the living area to the bedroom, or even as a hallway runner in spacious corridors.
