This original Kilim from Afghanistan is a testament to the ancient art of nomadic weaving. Made entirely from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a robust weave and a uniquely charming surface, enriched by subtle color variations, known as "abrash", which enhance its authenticity and artisanal character.
The design of this rug is characterized by a series of well-defined geometric panels, rich in traditional tribal motifs. The color palette is extraordinarily vibrant and harmonious, predominantly featuring shades of orange, terracotta, deep blue, sky blue, pink, and mint green, all balanced by natural hues of beige and ivory. The large central medallions and finely crafted borders reflect the distinctive aesthetic of Afghan Kilims.
With its flat weave and lightness (approximately 0.3 cm thick), this Kilim is extremely versatile and can be placed in various home settings, from the living room to the bedroom, and even as a wall decoration. The dense weave and material resistance, with an equivalent density of about 160,000-200,000 "points"/sqm, ensures remarkable durability over time, making it a valuable investment for those seeking a piece of history and tradition.
