Immerse yourself in the heart of Oriental craftsmanship with this magnificent Afghan Kilim, a true celebration of colors and traditions. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, this flatweave rug is a work of art that expresses the soul of nomadic peoples and their deep connection to nature.
The design is a geometric all-over masterpiece, dominated by a lively terracotta orange hue that serves as a backdrop for an explosion of diamond motifs. The central field features a succession of lozenges, predominantly white, light blue, lavender, and green, creating a hypnotic visual rhythm. On the sides, the borders are decorated with larger, stylized diamonds, reminiscent of 'bow-tie' or 'double lozenge' shapes, in an equally rich and harmonious color palette, with a prevalence of blues, greens, purples, and yellows.
Every fiber of this Kilim tells a story, with subtle color variations, known as abrash, testifying to the natural dyeing and authenticity of the handcrafted process. Despite its nature as a flatweave rug (Kilim), its density is estimated to be equivalent to that of knotted rugs, at 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, and it features a thickness of 0.3 cm, confirming its remarkable robustness and quality.
This rug is not just a furnishing item, but a piece of history and culture. Its energetic chromatic palette and traditional design make it perfect for adding warmth and character to both modern minimalist environments and more classic or bohemian spaces, creating a welcoming atmosphere rich in exotic charm.
