This magnificent Kilim from Afghanistan is an authentic expression of traditional textile art. Masterfully hand-woven, it features a vibrant and fascinating geometric design, typical of Central Asian nomadic cultures. Kilims are pile-less rugs, made with a flatweave technique that makes them sturdy, lightweight, and reversible, perfect for adding an ethnic and warm touch to any setting.
The color composition is an explosion of warm tones: terracotta red, orange, and cream predominate, interspersed with accents of sky blue and ochre, creating a harmonious visual contrast. The all-over design is characterized by large and small diamond-shaped medallions (guls), typical of these artifacts, enriched with minor tribal motifs and a geometric border that defines its composition. The use of hand-carded wool gives the rug a rich texture and a slight natural color variation, known as "abrash", which enhances its authenticity and artisanal charm.
Ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, or as a distinctive element in modern spaces, this Kilim is not just a rug, but a piece of history and culture, capable of transforming the atmosphere of a home with its unique presence.
