This original Kilim from Afghanistan is an authentic expression of nomadic textile art. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, attesting to its excellent craftsmanship and durability.
The all-over pattern is dominated by a series of large, interconnected diamond motifs, filled with smaller geometric designs. The color palette is vibrant and harmonious, predominantly featuring deep red, sky blue, ocher yellow, and beige, which blend to create a lively visual effect. The light-colored border features stylized motifs that frame the central field.
Each Kilim is a unique work of art, and this example is no exception, carrying the history and culture of its land of origin. Its thin finish (0.3 cm) makes it versatile and adaptable to various settings, adding a touch of warmth and authenticity.
