Ardakan Rug: Persian Elegance in Precious Wool

This splendid rug comes from the renowned region of Ardakan in Persia, known for its masterful craftsmanship and the quality of its products. It is an authentic textile work of art, capable of enriching any environment with its presence.

Made entirely of hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, it guarantees exceptional resistance and softness. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, testifies to the complexity and care in its execution. The thickness of approximately 1 cm contributes to a comfortable tactile experience and excellent sound insulation.

The design features a bright red central field, finely decorated with an all-over design of stylized floral motifs, including palmettes, lotus flowers, and meandering vines. At its center, an elaborate medallion dominates, enriched with shades of dark blue, cream, and light blue, which is partially repeated in the four quarter-medallions at the corners of the field.

The whole is framed by a main border with a dark blue background, on which continuous floral motifs reminiscent of those in the field develop, and by thin secondary borders with more stylized geometric or floral designs. The harmony of colors and the richness of the design make this Ardakan a piece of great aesthetic and cultural value.
