This authentic Kilim from Afghanistan is a textile work of art that captivates with its vibrancy and geometric motifs. Made using the ancient flatweave technique, this rug is woven with hand-carded wool, ensuring a robust texture and excellent resistance over time. The cotton warp contributes to its stability and durability.
The design features an all-over pattern dominated by a series of concentric and interconnected diamonds, cleverly arranged to form a harmonious grid. Each diamond is a small universe of details, enriched with internal motifs that recall ancestral symbols. The color palette is a triumph of warm and cool tones, with terracotta orange as a vibrant base, embellished with accents of brilliant turquoise, luminous cream, forest green, purple, and ocher yellow. Subtle variations in color, known as abrash, add depth and character, testifying to the artisanal nature of the dyeing and weaving process.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of only 0.3 cm, this Kilim is lightweight yet incredibly durable. It is the ideal choice for those who wish to add an ethnic and sophisticated touch to any room, from the living area to the bedroom, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
