This magnificent Kilim rug, directly from Afghanistan, is a vibrant expression of traditional textile art. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool and a cotton warp, each fiber tells a story of artisanal mastery and passion. The characteristic "abrash" (natural color variation) gives this Kilim a unique depth and authenticity, typical of artifacts produced with natural dyes and hand-spun yarn.
The design stands out with its horizontal bands featuring a rich array of repeated geometric motifs, including stylized hexagons and diamonds, enriched with floral or symbolic details that follow an harmonious rhythm. The dominant shades range from terracotta red and burnt orange to delicate hues of beige, sky blue, lilac, and aqua green, creating a warm and inviting color palette. The border, also decorated with minute geometric patterns, elegantly frames the overall design.
With a density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm (technical data provided for this artifact, though Kilims are flatweaves) and a thickness of only 0.3 cm, this rug is robust yet light, ideal for adding a touch of color and history to any environment. A versatile and durable piece, perfect for decorating living rooms, studies, or bedrooms, offering an ethnic and refined atmosphere.
