This magnificent original Kilim from Afghanistan is a textile work of art that captures the essence of traditional craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features an exceptionally high-quality flat weave. Although the knot density metric (160,000-200,000 knots/sqm) is more common for pile rugs, this value indicates the great care and compactness of the fabric's weaving. With a thickness of only 0.3 cm, it is lightweight and versatile.
The design is characterized by an all-over pattern of rhombuses and stylized geometric motifs, harmoniously distributed across the entire surface. The color palette is rich and vibrant, with dominant shades of burnt orange, red, blue, aqua green, yellow, purple, and cream. The presence of abrash, the slight variations in color due to the natural dyeing of the wool, adds depth and unique character to each piece, testifying to its authenticity.
Perfect for adding an ethnic and sophisticated touch to any environment, this Kilim is not just a rug, but a piece of history and culture, ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, or studies.
