Discover the authenticity and charm of a Shiraz rug, a textile masterpiece originating from the mountainous regions of Southern Persia. This particular piece, hand-knotted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, reflects the artisanal skill of the Qashqai and Khamseh nomadic tribes, guardians of a centuries-old tradition.
The central design is dominated by a sequence of large, interconnected diamond (losanga) motifs, creating a dynamic zig-zag pattern along the entire length of the rug. Within these medallions and the surrounding fields, a universe of stylized tribal motifs unfolds: figures of animals (birds, quadrupeds), human figures, and geometric symbols that narrate ancient stories and beliefs. The rich and vibrant color palette ranges from intense reds to deep blues, earthy browns, with accents of ivory, orange, and green, enhanced by the 'abrash' effect that gives unique depth and character to each shade. The border, with its classic sawtooth pattern, harmoniously frames the central field.
<With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm, this rug is robust and durable, ideal for adding warmth and personality to any setting. A piece that is not just a furnishing element, but a bridge to ancient Persian culture, capable of infusing a unique and welcoming atmosphere.
