This superb Shiraz rug, originating from Persia, is an authentic expression of nomadic textile art. Every element tells a story, capturing the soul of the tribes who hand-knotted it with dedication and skill.
Its main field is dominated by a deep red hue, radiating warmth and vitality, a distinctive feature of these artifacts. At its center, a striking diamond-shaped medallion in cream and beige stands out, richly adorned with geometric and stylized motifs that evoke floral and symbolic elements, typical of the Shiraz tradition.
Around the medallion, the diamond design is further emphasized by rows of small geometric patterns, such as tiny stars and diamonds, creating a dynamic and captivating visual effect. A subtle abrash effect is noticeable, testament to the use of hand-dyed wool, which adds depth and character to the vibrant red.
The frame consists of several borders enclosing the central field, with the main one adorned with intricate and repeated geometric designs, contrasting chromatically with the field, using dark blue, beige, and brown. Every detail is a tribute to the ingenuity and creativity of nomadic peoples.
Crafted from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and is 1 cm thick. Each knot tells a story, making every Shiraz a unique and unrepeatable work, perfect for adding a touch of authenticity and history to any space.
