This authentic Shiraz rug originates from the historic region of Persia, an area renowned for its rich textile tradition. Entirely made with hand-carded wool, featuring a cotton warp, each fiber tells a story of mastery and dedication. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, attests to the fineness and robustness of this textile work of art, with a thickness of approximately 1 cm providing a sense of solidity and comfort.
The design of the Shiraz rug is a tribute to tribal symbolism. The deep red main field hosts a sequence of three interconnected central diamond medallions that immediately catch the eye. These medallions are finely outlined and filled with stylized geometric motifs, typical of nomadic craftsmanship. The color contrast is striking and harmonious: the vibrant red of the field blends with the navy blue of the side borders and the internal elements within the medallions, creating a powerful visual effect. Small tribal designs, such as stylized animals or natural elements, populate the background, adding depth and character. The slight color variations, known as abrash, are a testament to the use of natural dyes and the artisanal crafting process, imbuing the rug with a unique and unrepeatable charm.
A Shiraz rug is not merely a piece of furniture, but a historical artifact that carries the soul and atmosphere of Persian villages, ideal for enriching any space with a touch of rustic elegance and timeless warmth.
